Cardiac Anesthesiology Physician - Saint Luke's - Kansas City, MO
Job Description
The Division of Anesthesiology at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is excited to welcome a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist to its highly respected Cardiac Anesthesiology section. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, collaborative team within a thriving department of more than 170 anesthesiologists, intensivists, CRNAs, AAs, residents, and advanced practice providers across the system.
About the position
Full-time CVOR role offering a high-volume, complex cardiac and thoracic case mix, including procedures such as heart and liver transplants, mechanical circulatory support (including LVAD implantation), aortic reconstruction, TAVR, structural heart interventions, CABG, valve surgeries, esophageal operations, and other advanced thoracic and major vascular cases
The ideal candidate will focus their clinical practice exclusively within the CVOR at MAHI, a specialized, freestanding clinical center located within Saint Luke’s Hospital
Given the high cardiac case volume, this position is primarily dedicated to cardiac anesthesia, with minimal assignments in the Main OR
The cardiology and heart surgery program at Mid America Heart Institute (MAHI) is ranked one of the top programs in the nation, performing over 1600 cardiothoracic, vascular and hybrid procedures yearly
Research involvement with members of the Outcomes/Research Division of MAHI is available if desired
Saint Luke’s Hospital serves as the primary teaching site for UMKC Medical School, offering academic appointment opportunities, with an anesthesia residency program (8 residents per year) where senior residents rotate through the CVOR
Saint Luke’s has an extremely competitive career employment package that includes a guaranteed salary & excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, malpractice insurance, tax-deferred retirement plan with employer match, paid time off, and a generous CME allowance
Requirements: Candidates should be in the process of completing or have completed a cardiac anesthesia fellowship; those who have finished training should demonstrate recent cardiac anesthesia experience. All candidates must be TEE board eligible or certified, reflecting readiness for a high-volume CVOR environment
