Carpenter

At FAENA The Red Sea, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and constructing wooden fixtures, furniture, fittings, and decorative elements throughout the hotel. The Carpenter plays a key role in preserving the property's luxury presentation and ensuring all guest-facing and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards. The successful candidate will contribute to creating exceptional environments that reflect the unique FAENA experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out carpentry repairs, maintenance, and installation works across guest rooms, villas, public areas, restaurants, offices, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Repair, assemble, and install furniture, cabinetry, doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and wooden structures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and identify carpentry-related issues before they impact operations.
  • Fabricate and modify wooden fixtures and furnishings as required to support operational and guest needs.
  • Perform finishing work including sanding, staining, varnishing, polishing, and laminating surfaces.
  • Ensure all carpentry work is completed to a high standard with attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work efficiently with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
  • Maintain carpentry tools, machinery, and equipment in safe and good working condition.
  • Monitor stock levels of carpentry materials and submit requests for replenishment when required.
  • Support renovation projects, room refurbishments, and hotel improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures while operating tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering team and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
  • Previous experience as a Carpenter within a luxury hotel, resort, commercial, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, woodworking tools, furniture repair, and joinery work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and specifications.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials including wood, laminate, veneer, and composite products.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements related to carpentry operations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Relevant trade certification or vocational qualification in Carpentry is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment while maintaining exceptional standards.
