A Category Space Analyst is responsible for building profitable growth through the design, planning and implementation of an account’s category space in the off-premises retail accounts. This role develops, sells, and executes a strategic market portfolio, space assortment and reset execution of captainships. This role is part of the Customer Growth Strategies team.

Here's more of what you will do... (Okay, not all in one day!)

A Category Space Analyst can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:

Creates, designs and recommends data-led selling stories and Planogram proposals that support National Accounts and Independent accounts to help grow Andrews’ share of space and market share.

  • Partners and collaborates with Category Development National Accounts and Strategic Space/Independent Consultants to design and propose Planograms aimed to build and grow revenue generating space solutions in the market.

  • Collects, analyzes and researches retail accounts using industry data/insights, Andrews’ sales tools and other available resources to gain a better understanding of each unique customer account.

  • Analyzes and researches a variety of data sources to develop recommendations/proposals (i.e. Power BI, Brand Builder, new item proposals as well as deletes, Nielsen data and high level market selling sheets) to create the best store specific solution for retailers.

  • Builds and designs planograms using multiple sources of data, market/sales tools and insights to determine the portfolio brand and product assortment mix to maximize growth.

  • Builds and designs total alcohol category solutions.

  • Makes problem resolution recommendations on Retailer category management issues; partners with team to provide and present solutions as needed.

  • Provides insights and feedback on suitability during approval process as needed to support retailer requirements.

  • Creates and maintains technical documentation to ensure consistency across the Customer Experience and Category Management team.

  • Helps to develop and prepare Retailer presentations to sell in schematics.

  • Performs post evaluation of all resets to determine profitability and gain retailer confidence. Coordinates follow up account visits as needed.

  • Produces market evaluation reports to review with Sales and Category Management team.

Partners with the National Accounts and Strategic Space/Independent Consultant teams to help execute resets in the marketplace.

  • Ensures the completion of pre-work on planogram printing, adjusting planograms with corrections during the reset in the store and executing all follow up work (communicating to Sales teams, buyer, printing cooler reversals, adjusting price tags, etc.) needed post reset.

  • Performs resets as needed in support of Service Excellence and Customer Centric Solutions.

Stays abreast of category management and space planning and industry technology/tools trends to drive innovative space allocation solutions. (5%)

  • Performs independent research and analysis to present recommendations for category management and development process and procedural improvements.

  • Explores and develops a basic understanding of external developments and/or emerging issues/trends to determine potential business impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

A qualified candidate for the Category Space Analyst role should satisfy the expectations below:

  • Two Plus Years CPG Sales Experience and/or Related Degree

  • Microsoft Experience/Knowledge

  • Strong Understanding of the Beer/Beverage Industry

  • Ability to Analyze Data and Develop Solutions

  • Understanding of General/Shelf Merchandising Principles from Previous Retail Experience

  • Strong Relationship Building, Communication and Influencing Skills

Here's what we hope you will have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or Related Field

  • Previous Category Management and Space Planning Software Experience

  • Previous Data Analysis and Reporting Experience

  • Previous Distribution Business Experience

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel, VLOOKUP.

  • Ability to Commercialize Data

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to pull/push a load up to 55 lbs.

  • Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products up to 55 lbs.

  • Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.

  • Must tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.

  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.

  • Ability to operate facility equipment required for role.

  • Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports and other forms of documentation using company and industry software.

  • Ability to speak, hear, and see is required to communicate with employees, and to operate computers and office machinery.

  • Hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation skills are necessary to operate computers and various facility machinery and equipment.

  • Driving is required during the workday.

  • Ability to perform job functions in compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety policies and best practices.

  • Must be able to maintain a current/valid driver's license.
