Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

This one-year residency allows for position to engage in Clinical Pastoral Education in accordance with the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation. Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, their families, visitors, and staff. Work collaboratively with the Department of Pastoral Care staff and participate in department activities and events. Provide on-call pastoral care coverage on a rotating basis

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and a background in theology required.

Master of Divinity preferred. One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting, walking, standing. Intermittent stretching, standing, stooping, bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Possible exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours.
