Pay: $20-22/hour, DOE

The Planet Group is looking for a Chemistry Lab Technician to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 12-months contract, working an onsite/hybrid schedule from Jackson, MI.

Chemistry Lab Technician | Qualifications:

  • Computer Proficiency -- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and process control software.
  • Documentation & Technical Writing -- Ability to manage and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Problem Solving -- Diagnose and resolve equipment, software, and system issues.
  • Quality Systems Experience -- (Preferred) Experience applying laboratory quality systems for accreditation compliance.
  • Field & Lab Experience -- (Preferred) At least one year of combined environmental sampling and lab testing experience.
Chemistry Lab Technician | Responsibilities:
  • Field Sampling -- Collect groundwater, surface water, and transformer insulating fluid samples in field environments.
  • Laboratory Testing -- Support inorganic analysis, waste characterization, and transformer oil testing in a fast?paced chemistry lab.
  • Equipment Maintenance -- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and program electronic, electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Technical Consultation -- Work with supervisors, engineers, operators, vendors, and service technicians to resolve issues, prioritize work, and provide technical expertise.
  • Documentation Management -- Review, edit, develop, and interpret documents, drawings, and reports related to analytical systems and laboratory operations.
  • Process Control Support -- Operate and troubleshoot computers, laboratory hardware, and process control software.
  • Quality & Compliance -- Apply laboratory quality systems to meet accreditation requirements.
  • General Duties -- Perform other related tasks as needed, including design decisions for lab equipment and facility systems.
  • Travel & Scheduling -- Meet travel requirements and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Physical Tasks -- Lift and move materials up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally; perform standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and other physical motions.
