SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Facilities Program Manager will perform as a fulltime general laborer and groundskeeper at Cholla Canyon Ranch maintain daily work records and prepares written reports as required, purchase and order of materials, equipment, service contractors and labor requirements for needed repairs and maintenance work around the campground. Follows safety rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Be familiar with the Hualapai Reservation Boundaries.
- Operate powered equipment's such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
- Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches, using hand and power tools.
- Repair and inspect fencing along property.
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features.
- Map existing burial sites and record information & location of graves
- Implement safety for yourself and guests.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain Cholla Canyon Ranch by daily cleaning of buildings and grounds.
- Maintain and repairs building property.
- Report utility issues to supervisors- water leaks, water levels, visual checks on supply tank.
- Able to take directions and complete the task given.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools and train individuals in safe and proper use.
- Lift up to 50 lbs be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with addition manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small spaces.
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Observe all tribal procedures and safety rules.
- Reports all Incidents to Assistant director and/or program.
- Order materials and supplies
- Be able to supervise and work as a team player with groundskeeper and others assigned to work there at times.
WORK CONDITION REQUIREMENT:
- Must be 18 years of age
High School diploma or GED Equivalent preferred- Preferred possession of a Valid Drivers License and be eligible for the tribe's insurance or obtain within 6-12months.
- Knowledgeable of construction methods and capable of safely utilizing typical tools used in building construction
- Must pass a pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening, any combination of training, education, and/or experience which demonstrates the potential to perform the duties of the position.
