Civil Engineer - Renewables & Industrial

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing team of professionals. This role is integral to the design, analysis, and implementation of civil infrastructure for renewable energy and industrial projects, including site development, grading, drainage, roads, foundations, and underground utilities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in civil design for energy, industrial, or infrastructure developments, with strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and working knowledge of multidisciplinary project coordination.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality, reliable, and efficient civil engineering solutions for real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Civil Design & Engineering:

  • Design and layout of civil works for renewable energy and industrial facilities, including site grading, earthworks, drainage systems, access roads, hardstands, and underground utility corridors.
  • Develop civil design packages for solar farms, BESS facilities, substations, industrial plants, and associated infrastructure.
  • Prepare site plans, grading drawings, drainage layouts, road alignments, utility plans, and civil details.
  • Support the design of foundations, slabs, retaining elements, and external works for industrial and energy facilities.
  • Ensure designs are developed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and constructability requirements.

2. Site Development & Infrastructure Expertise:

  • Perform site development design for renewable and industrial projects, including cut and fill optimization, stormwater management, and surface water drainage.
  • Support the design and coordination of access roads, internal roads, crane pads, equipment platforms, and maintenance access areas where required.
  • Coordinate underground utility layouts and interface with electrical, mechanical, and process requirements across the project.
  • Review geotechnical, topographical, hydrological, and survey information to inform design development and engineering decisions.
  • Contribute to practical and efficient civil solutions that support safety, operability, and long-term asset performance.

3. Civil 3D Modeling & Coordination:

  • Prepare and manage civil engineering models and drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D for site development, grading, drainage, roads, and utilities.
  • Develop surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading models, and quantity outputs to support design and project delivery.
  • Coordinate civil designs with structural, electrical, mechanical, process, and environmental disciplines in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Participate in model reviews and design coordination sessions to support integrated and clash-free project delivery

4. Technical Deliverables & Documentation:

  • Perform engineering calculations related to earthworks, drainage, stormwater systems, road geometry, utility layouts, and foundation inputs.
  • Generate technical specifications, quantity take-offs, bill of quantities, and construction documentation in compliance with applicable standards and client requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, inspection notes, and client-facing documents.
  • Support permitting, design basis documentation, and engineering deliverables across concept, FEED, and detailed design stages

5. Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Quality Assurance:

  • Coordinate civil design with structural, electrical, mechanical, geotechnical, environmental, and architectural disciplines.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure integration, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, models, calculations, and documentation to uphold design quality and consistency.
  • Support resolution of technical design issues and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and workflows.

6. Project Execution Support:

  • Provide engineering support during construction, including site visits, responses to RFIs, review of contractor submissions, and design clarifications.
  • Assist in reviewing earthworks, drainage installation, roadworks, foundations, and underground utility construction for compliance with design intent.
  • Support as-built documentation, construction records, and coordination with site and commissioning teams as required.
  • Contribute to project scheduling, cost awareness, and planning of engineering scope delivery

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in civil engineering design for renewable energy, industrial, infrastructure, or similar large-scale projects.
  • Experience in site development, grading, drainage, roads, foundations, and underground utility coordination.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D for design and modeling of civil engineering works.
  • Good understanding of relevant civil engineering codes, standards, and design practices.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Preferred:

  • Experience in renewable energy projects such as solar PV, BESS, substations, wind, or associated energy infrastructure.
  • Site experience, including field engineering, construction supervision, inspection, or contractor coordination.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical interpretation, stormwater assessments, earthworks optimization, and utility interface management.
  • Working knowledge of BIM/CDE platforms and multidisciplinary digital coordination workflows.
  • Experience in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and client-facing engineering documentation.
