Clinic Therapist
Title: Therapist III
Qualifications: Master's Degree, LIMHP or PLMHP
Job Purpose:
Provide mental health therapy with children and families to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Therapy assessment, intervention, and support will address the impact of trauma and healthy attachments.
Essential Job Duties:
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy service. Therapy will emphasize treatment of trauma and or attachment related problems.
• Provide comprehensive clinical assessments for assigned clients.
• Provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families. Manage caseloads and meet minimum direct service expectations.
• Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and collaborate with the team to ensure clients and families are receiving good continuity of care.
• Complete paperwork including progress notes, reports, assessments, service plans and discharge summaries on a timely basis according to agency and licensing standards.
• Effectively engage clients in treatment plans that result in positive outcomes for clients.
• Provide supervision for practicum students and clinical supervision for therapists I, therapists II, and other staff as needed.
• Effectively utilize evidenced-based therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate with community partners to meet the needs of children.
• Complete service and billing documentation on a timely basis according to program standards.
• Participate in consultation and supervision sessions as required.
• Collect statistics and implement Continual Quality Improvement procedures.
Other Duties:
• Drive to and from home and school-based appointments.
• Provide community parties with education on parent/child relationships, trauma/attachment issues, abuse/neglect issues, intervention techniques and other related topics.
• Complete training necessary for position and for professional growth.
• Facilitate a team atmosphere by working in partnership with other agency staff and by promoting a positive working environment.
• Represent the agency and programs in a positive manner to clients, community organizations and the public, in general.
• Show flexibility with regard to work schedule; evening and weekend work is required.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
