Clinical Data Scientist
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Data Scientist based in Canada.
In this role, you will contribute to the advancement of innovative medical technology by transforming complex clinical data into meaningful insights that support patient care improvements. You will work at the intersection of data science, clinical research, and medical device innovation, helping analyze physiological and hemodynamic datasets generated from advanced wearable ultrasound technology. The position plays a key role in strengthening clinical evidence, supporting algorithm development, and validating new clinical use cases. You will collaborate closely with clinical, engineering, research, and product teams to design and execute studies that drive scientific discovery and regulatory advancement. This is a highly analytical and research-driven role where your work directly influences product innovation and clinical outcomes. You will operate in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values scientific rigor, curiosity, and cross-functional teamwork. Your contributions will support publications, clinical trials, and the continued evolution of next-generation healthcare solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Analyze large and complex clinical and physiological datasets using advanced programming tools (primarily Python or R) to generate actionable insights.
- Support the design, execution, and leadership of clinical research studies from data collection through analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
- Develop and validate clinical hypotheses in collaboration with clinical science, medical affairs, and research teams.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and version control across clinical studies, including maintenance of trial master files and databases.
- Perform biostatistical analysis and interpret study results to support evidence generation and product validation.
- Prepare high-quality scientific outputs including reports, presentations, figures, posters, manuscripts, and grant materials.
- Review scientific literature to assess clinical relevance, support claim development, and identify opportunities for product expansion.
- Participate in scientific conferences and act as a key contributor and point of contact for assigned clinical studies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical protocols, research methodologies, and operational processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, biomedical engineering, or related discipline.
- 3–5+ years of experience in clinical data science, biostatistics, medical imaging, hemodynamics, or related biotech/pharma environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python (preferred) or R for data analysis and modeling.
- Solid expertise in biostatistics and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Proven experience in clinical research, study design, and scientific interpretation of results.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub.
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to scientific rigor.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Competitive annual salary ranging approximately from CAD $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
