Clinical Deputy Manager – Registered Nurse

Patcham Nursing Home is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Deputy Manager (Registered Nurse) to join our senior leadership team.


This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated nurse looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping outstanding clinical care within a high-quality nursing environment.


Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will provide strong clinical leadership, oversee standards of care, support your team’s development, and ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care every day.


This is a senior role combining clinical leadership, quality improvement, and operational responsibility, offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the home.


About the Role

As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will be a visible and approachable leader, supporting the Registered Manager in the effective running of the service while maintaining excellent clinical oversight.


You will work a balanced role of 12 hours clinical floor-based leadership and 28 hours office-based management responsibilities, ensuring you remain connected with residents and staff while leading on quality and compliance.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift pattern: Monday – Sunday, including alternate weekends and participation in an on-call rota


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational clinical leadership across the home
  • Maintain and continually improve high standards of resident care
  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management of the service
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and quality standards
  • Lead on care planning, assessments, clinical documentation, and governance
  • Conduct audits, identify improvements, and support quality initiatives
  • Champion safeguarding and best practice across the home
  • Mentor, coach, and develop nurses and care team members
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external healthcare professionals including GPs and district nurses
  • Promote a positive culture where dignity, respect, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do


About You

You will be an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional standards of care and supporting others to achieve their best.


You will have:

  • A current Registered Nurse qualification with a valid NMC PIN
  • Experience working in a senior nursing, clinical lead, deputy manager, or similar leadership position
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, CQC requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • The confidence to lead teams, drive improvements, and make decisions
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care
