Clinical Psychologist (Neuropsychologist)

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

The principal function of the position is that of a psychologist providing specialized neuropsychological assessment services. Exercises full professional responsibility for his/her findings, interpretations, decisions, recommendations and reports, and for providing full professional clinical services to inmates in the medical center. Responsible for performing neuropsychological evaluations on both sentenced and unsentenced federal detainees, including those referred for forensic evaluation. Periodically appraises the attitudes, personality dynamics and overall level of adjustment of inmates resulting from participation in current institutional programs. Plans and implements both individual and group psychotherapy on a regularly scheduled basis. Conducts individual interviews and crisis intervention sessions as required. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff all others required by this position d on a regular and recurring basis.
