About the Role:

This position is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified position and is exempt under the Equal Opportunity Act (1984). The position will only be open to those who identify as of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Outreach Worker (ATSIOW) will work closely with other CTG ITC team members to better connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to health services that will improve the health outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and reduce the barriers to access appropriate primary health care services.

Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment;

  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community groups and individuals.

  • Relevant training and experience in a relevant health or community services fields

Qualification and Other Requirements:

  • Certificate level qualification in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care community /practice (or willingness to undertake such training funded through the Closing the Gap package)

  • Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)

  • Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)

  • Employment is subject to compliance with Sonder’s Immunisation Policy. Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, all vaccinations and immunisations required for the role.
