Ready to Help Shape the Future of Legal Tech?!
At Litera, we don’t just build software, we transform how the world’s top law firms operate. Every day, we Raise The Bar™️ for what’s possible through AI, innovation, and solutions that power millions of legal professionals worldwide. If you’re energized by scale, real impact, and meaningful challenges, you’ll feel right at home here.
Where You’ll Work
This is a hybrid role based in Denver, Colorado with the expectations to be in office at least 3 days a week for collaboration and connection.
Why this Role Matters
As a Cloud Architect, you will help shape the foundation of our cloud-native SaaS platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and built for long-term growth. You will define the architectural standards, patterns, and technical direction that enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions consistently. Working across Engineering, Product, Security, and Customer teams, you will solve complex challenges related to performance, reliability, compliance, and multi-tenant architecture. Your expertise will influence how we leverage cloud, data, integrations, and AI technologies to create exceptional customer experiences. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to drive architectural excellence and help scale the platform for the future.
What You'll Deliver
Contribute to the architecture of a cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform, including services, APIs, data, integrations, and AI/ML capabilities.
Identify architectural risks related to scalability, availability, security, data residency, and disaster recovery, and define platform-wide mitigation patterns.
Establish and maintain architecture reference designs, technical standards, and reusable blueprints used across engineering teams.
Actively participate to the platform’s architectural evolution through major milestones while ensuring backward compatibility and long-term technical coherence.
Design and govern enterprise-grade identity and access management, including SSO, provisioning, authorization models, and tenant isolation.
Embed security and compliance (SOC 2, GDPR, enterprise security controls) directly into platform and data architecture by design.
Architect scalable, high-performance data and event-driven systems supporting multi-region, multi-tenant SaaS workloads.
Define and apply integration patterns and onboarding standards for third-party and partner ecosystems, ensuring security, resiliency, and data sovereignty.
Provide hands-on architectural guidance by participating in design reviews, mentoring engineers, and partnering with Product, Security, and Customer teams
Produce clear architecture documentation and communicate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What You'll Bring
Must-Haves:
5+ years of experience in cloud architecture or platform engineering, with significant experience designing production SaaS platforms (Azure preferred).
Deep hands-on expertise with Azure services (e.g., AKS, Cosmos DB, Synapse, Service Bus, Redis, APIM, Entra ID) and cloud-native design patterns.
Strong experience designing multi-tenant data architectures with tenant isolation, governance, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Solid understanding of identity, security, and authentication standards — including OIDC, OAuth 2.0, RBAC, encryption, and key management
Ability to produce high-quality architecture documentation and communicate technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-To-Haves:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree or relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect) preferred.
What You’ll Experience
A team that shows up. Work alongside people who collaborate, support one another, and lead with integrity.
Global Reach. Partner with teams around the world to solve complex challenges that matter.
Real opportunity for growth. Expand your impact through meaningful stretch opportunities, visibility and career development.
