Cloud Engineer

You will design and implement large-scale Google Cloud Platform solutions and act as a trusted advisor for enterprise and government cloud and AI initiatives. You will lead architecture design while remaining a builder who initiates integration and testing of your designs. You will design secure, resilient networking topologies, implement VPC and disaster recovery strategies, and build cloud deployments that integrate with third-party systems. You will create and deploy agentic workflows, design cost-optimized architectures applying FinOps practices, and evaluate and introduce new technologies. You will translate executive business needs into technical requirements, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and ensure solutions meet compliance and security standards. You must be prepared to obtain active Google Cloud certifications shortly after joining and meet the stated citizenship requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan cloud-native solutions
  • Design secure, resilient, and scalable network topologies and disaster recovery strategies
  • Design, optimize, and develop cloud deployments and integrations with third-party systems
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and collaborate with engineers and project managers
  • Create and deploy agentic capabilities and workflows
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve solutions
  • Design cost-optimized architectures and implement FinOps practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud technology with progression into architectural design
  • Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and serverless architectures
  • Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills with ability to influence C-level stakeholders
  • Active Google Cloud certifications or willingness to obtain within one month of joining
  • U.S. Citizen
