CNC Machinist
Qualifications & experience
- A minimum 3 years' experience of relevant qualification in Precision Machining or Higher Nitec or Nitec in Mechanical Engineering .
- Experience machining Metal/Plastic products.
- Knowledge of CNC programming will be an advantage
Tasks & responsibilities
- To provide support in production activities ensuring that all manufacturing orders job are meeting to CNC machining process WI.
- To provide guidance and training to junior or new machinist.
- To involve and support in CNC continuous programming improvement and reduction of machining cycle time.
- Lays out work, sets up, and operates computer numeric control (CNC) lathes to perform machining operations according to manufacturing orders and drawing required tolerances and specifications.
- Monitors initial runs and does inspection to assure conformance to blueprints and quality plans.
- Ensure all dimensions inspected during "in process" inspection are correct and recorded. To care and do monthly maintenance check on machine (i.e. identify faults and immediate report to Supervisor)
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
