CNC Machinist

JOB SUMMARY:

The CNC Machinist I role is familiar with the processes associated with Pryer Aerospace’s Machining facility. This position will be continuously gaining skills and experience while responsible for operating (CNC) machines used to manufacture precision aerospace components. This role involves setting up equipment, loading materials, monitoring operations, and inspecting finished products to ensure they meet engineering specifications. The machinist works under close supervision and follows established procedures with high quality standards.

This position will play a crucial role in the production process and contribute to the company’s overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate CNC machine tools, primarily 3-, 4-, and 5- axis milling equipment, as well as lathes.
  • Read engineered blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Perform accurate measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust to maintain accuracy.
  • Provide machining technical skills and problem-solving solutions.
  • Compares machine setup parameters with specifications on operations setup sheet.
  • Follow all safety and workmanship policies in a high-precision, aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, inspection records, in accordance with AS9100.
  • Periodically verify the conformity of the parts being machined to the specification in the router packet.
  • Deburr parts to achieve smooth finished edges and ensure accurate locating and nesting of multiple operations
  • Basic understanding of G-code programming.
  • Keep shop work areas clean and organized for efficient workflow and readiness.
