CNC Operator – Second Shift

Location: Graniteville, VT

Rock of Ages is looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Operator for our second shift operations.

This position is ideal for CNC machine operators, granite sawyers, or industrial production technicians. The CNC operator may operate CNC controlled equipment ranging from simple two axis saws and polishers, to complex 5 axis walk in CNC milling machines.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily production of multiple CNC machines by means of loading/unloading parts, part inspection, troubleshooting, and routine machine maintenance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints & drawings.
  • Must have excellent basic math /shop math skills. Familiar with metric/standard conversion.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic measuring tools, such as: micrometers, calipers, tape measures, indicators, and gauges.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet operational and production objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience in CNC machining.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret dimensional specifications.
  • Mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and craftsmanship.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

Physical Requirements:

This position requires standing, walking, frequent use of hands and tools, and handling materials throughout the workday. Employees have access to lifting equipment, including overhead cranes, and team support for moving materials safely.

Working Conditions:

  • Employment status: Permanent / Full-time.
  • Hourly rate: $25 to $35 and up, depending on industry experience.
  • Schedule 2nd shift: 3:00 Pm to 1:30AM, Monday to Thursday. OT available
