Starting Pay: From $24.00 per hour (higher compensation may be available based on experience)
Shift Differential: Additional $3.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Steel Processing Operator to join our second-shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating CNC equipment used in structural steel fabrication while ensuring parts are produced accurately, safely, and according to production requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience in heavy manufacturing or structural steel fabrication and is comfortable working with automated machinery, fabrication drawings, and material handling equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Set up and operate CNC fabrication equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
- Process structural steel components according to production schedules and engineering requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Perform minor programming edits or machine adjustments to accommodate changes in material size or thickness.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders before beginning production.
- Verify completed parts using precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares.
- Maintain quality standards by checking dimensions and tolerances throughout the production process.
- Load, position, and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, or other approved material handling devices.
- Safely transport materials throughout the fabrication facility while following established procedures.
- Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report repairs requiring additional support.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies while operating equipment.
