Co-Pack Supervisor
The Co-Pack Supervisor is responsible for first line management of production lines (2 or more) in the safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective lean environment of high-quality kitting and contract packaging within a high-volume distribution center. You will ensure a safe, productive, and efficient working environment while striving for continuous improvements to meet company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Continuously improves the group’s performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
- Effectively implements new performance management systems, production plans and performance criteria; runs shift meetings; confirms production progress; responds to delays; takes corrective actions; records KPI performance.
- Creates and implements group improvement plans.
- Work directly with purchasing planning team.
- Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the projects and organization.
- Encourages joint problem solving, personal safety, and individual development.
- Supports Shorr Packaging mission, follows values of Shorr Packaging and works to better Shorr Packaging’s business.
- Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good safety practices and habits.
- Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, insures positive employee relations, and reviews the performance of employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent related experience required.
- Minimum 3 years related warehouse or copacking management/supervisory experience required
- Management experience in a dynamic production or co-packing environment required
- Working knowledge of production run rates, pricing, and expenses as it relates to P/L performance.
- Demonstrated supervisory, organizational, interpersonal, computer, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic understanding of OSHA, DOT, labor and other federal regulations.
- Understanding of basic machine operation principles.
- Ability to track performance for employees, coach, train and correct as needed.
- Ability to drive production on a department, and individual level.
- Previous logistics/ supply management experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching & sitting required.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
