Looking to break into a hands-on, lab-based role? This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in coal sampling, preparation, and analysis while working alongside a supportive and safety-focused team.
You’ll receive full training and develop valuable technical skills in a role that prioritises accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with coal sampling, preparation, and laboratory analysis
- Following both routine and non-routine sampling procedures
- Supporting the calibration and maintenance of laboratory and preparation equipment
- Ensuring accuracy, precision, and traceability of all samples
- Contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
About you
- Experience in a fast-paced, physically active industrial setting
- Previous coal sampling/testing experience (advantageous but not essential)
- Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliability and a customer-focused mindset
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Excel)
- Team player with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work shifts and rosters
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
- This role requires completion of a Coal Board Order 45 medical, including respirator fit testing. Candidates must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals in order to be able to successfully complete this medical
