Collections Officer

As a Collections Officer, you manage the recovery of outstanding debts from clients, notifying them of overdue payments and actively pursuing settlements to minimize company losses, maximize collections, and maintain positive customer relationships

What are you going to do?

  • Supervise assigned accounts to identify unresolved debts.
  • By means of various channels, communicate with customers and inform them of their overdue bills.
  • Develop effective repayment plans.
  • Follow-up with clients on overdue accounts.
  • Oversee all monthly payments and refunds.
  • Respond to client account queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate with individual and commercial clients and brokers.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Administer relevant collection data and maintain overview of the own portfolio and escalate cases to the relevant internal departments.
  • Perform all administrative duties related to ensuring office efficiency.
  • Research and implement effective collection techniques.
  • Signal, document, and address issues and/or opportunities for improvement in legal collection work processes and pro-actively contribute to the development of alternatives / solutions.
  • Execute other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at discretion of management to assure continuity of the business operations.

What do we expect from you?

  • Min. vocational level of thinking (MBO diploma level 4 in business administration)
  • Min. 3 years’ experience in customer service, sales, collections or related field.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of billing and collection processes.
  • Knowledge of payment plans and accounting procedures
  • Good administrative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento
