Commercial Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Commercial Manager to join our growing Commercial team. This pivotal role will drive revenue growth through strategic business development, client engagement, and effective sales execution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume marine services environment, with a strong focus on Singapore’s port operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business development: Identify and secure new opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Market intelligence: Conduct research and monitor industry trends to inform commercial strategies.
  • Client acquisition: Drive proactive outreach, including cold-calling and lead generation.
  • Relationship management: Build and sustain strong client partnerships through regular engagement and responsive service.
  • Contract negotiation: Negotiate agreements and prepare contracts within defined parameters.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Align commercial initiatives with operational objectives.
  • Strategic insights: Provide market-driven recommendations to support long-term planning.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant commercial background with proven success in key account management and vessel chartering, preferably within the marine towage industry either port operations or ocean-going towage.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and resilience under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Minimum 5–7 years in a managerial role, with prior experience engaging client decision-makers and senior management.
