Commercial Outside Sales Representative - Truck Tires

For more <\/span>than 75 years, our client, a <\/span>family\-owned commercial tire and <\/span>lubricant distributor, has helped <\/span>hardworking Midwest fleets <\/span>stay on the move. Their <\/span>specialties run across commercial fleet <\/span>maintenance, premium tires <\/span>and retreads, and bulk <\/span>oil and lubricants. Stepping <\/span>into this Outside <\/span>Sales Representative <\/span>position, you will be responsible for <\/span>selling truck tires, <\/span>mechanical services, and value\-added <\/span>lubricants throughout the Columbus, <\/span>Ohio trucking market. The territory is <\/span>yours to manage, the relationships are <\/span>yours to build, and the growth is yours <\/span>to drive. Expect a field\-based, outside <\/span>sales role anchored in the Columbus <\/span>metro area.<\/span>

What you will do to <\/b><\/span>succeed:<\/b><\/span>
<\/p><\/div>

  • Source leads, line up <\/span>appointments, and do whatever it takes <\/span>to expand sales.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Build out accounts, <\/span>prospect, and run sales calls across <\/span>the commercial, fleet, and industrial <\/span>sectors (somewhere between 15 and 20 <\/span>calls daily).<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Collaborate closely <\/span>with Inside Sales and Customer Service <\/span>so the sales process stays accurate.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Devote close to 95 percent of your <\/span>working hours to your territory, <\/span>nurturing relationships and selling <\/span>tires, lubricants, and related products <\/span>and services.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Keep every account's <\/span>customer files complete and accurate.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Cover a sales route that rotates across <\/span>your accounts every two weeks.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Log <\/span>your sales pipeline in the CRM.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Keep <\/span>sharpening your knowledge through <\/span>product training and manufacturer <\/span>classes.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Assist in setting credit <\/span>terms and sorting out collection issues <\/span>whenever they surface.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Grow your <\/span>territory profitably while delivering <\/span>on your targets.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Move each key <\/span>account relationship beyond <\/span>order\-taking into a trusted business <\/span>partnership.<\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>

    Essential
    <\/p>

    • A valid driver's license paired with a clean driving record.
      <\/li>
    • A home base within the Columbus, Ohio metro area is required.
      <\/li>
    • A minimum of 3 years selling tires. What our client really wants to see is commercial truck tire (B2B) experience.
      <\/li>
    • Free to start with no non\-compete agreement standing in the way of selling commercial tires in the Columbus market. Disclose any existing agreement up front.
      <\/li>
    • Your own vehicle is required, with the company contributing a monthly travel allowance.
      <\/li>
    • At ease with outside, territory\-based selling and a heavy daily call load.
      <\/li><\/ul>

      Note: Retail or consumer tire experience on its own is not a fit. Work at big\-box stores or retail tire shops (for example, Costco, Walmart, or a retail tire chain) is business\-to\-consumer. Our client needs commercial, business\-to\-business tire experience.

      • Comfort working with CRM tools.
        <\/li>
      • A bit of college coursework.
        <\/li>
      • Established connections with fleets or commercial accounts across central Ohio.

      • Specifically, commercial truck tire (B2B) experience.

        Non\-compete: Candidates must disclose any existing non\-compete agreement up front. Our client reviews and clears any non\-compete before interviews.

        Commercial truck tire (B2B) experience is the core requirement. Retail experience alone is a disqualifier.

        This role requires your own vehicle. A monthly allowance is provided.
