Commercial Product Pricing Strategist

This role sits at the intersection of advanced financial strategy, market intelligence, and government contracting, with a focus on developing pricing models for complex defense, technology, and mission-critical solutions. You will be responsible for designing and executing pricing strategies that support large-scale bids and long-term programs within highly regulated environments. The position requires deep analytical capability to evaluate costs, profitability, and competitive positioning while aligning with federal procurement standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including finance, engineering, product, and operations to shape pricing decisions that directly impact business outcomes. In addition, you will play a key role in preparing proposals and presenting pricing strategies to senior leadership and government stakeholders. This is a high-impact strategic role suited for professionals who thrive in complex, data-driven, and regulated commercial environments.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute pricing strategies and financial models for complex defense, technology, and government contract opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis to assess pricing trends, cost drivers, and positioning strategies.
- Build and maintain advanced financial models to evaluate profitability, forecast costs, and support pricing scenarios.
- Lead pricing development for RFPs and large-scale government proposals, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, and other applicable government contracting regulations, maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, product, engineering, operations, and sales) to align pricing with business objectives.
- Present pricing strategies, risk assessments, and financial justifications to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
- Support negotiation processes and contribute to the development of competitive and compliant pricing proposals.
- Translate complex financial and market data into actionable insights for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related quantitative field (MBA preferred).
- 8–10+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, cost estimating, or related roles.
- Strong experience in government contracting or defense industry environments.
- Deep understanding of federal procurement processes and regulations (FAR, DFARS).
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel and pricing tools.
- Proven ability to develop data-driven pricing strategies and evaluate complex commercial scenarios.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems in highly regulated and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Experience presenting to senior leadership and external government stakeholders.
- U.S. citizenship required and eligibility for security clearance mandatory.
- Competitive salary range of $150,000 – $250,000, based on experience and qualifications
