Commercial Strategy and Operations Manager

Google Customer Solutions (GCS) is Google’s sales organization dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and Small and Medium-sized businesses (SMBs) grow using Google’s Ads products. Within GCS, the Sales Strategy & Operations team leverages advanced data-driven methodologies to inform and set sales strategies. In this role, you will provide business-critical insights using complex analytics to drive strategic decisions, ensure cross-functional alignment, and facilitate new initiatives. You will drive sustainable business growth and product adoption by aligning high-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, evolving early-stage ideas into future-growth engines. Team members are experts in business strategy and operations, utilizing rigorous analytical frameworks while remaining highly pragmatic and results-oriented.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $275,850 - $326,000 + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Position reports to the Google Mountain View, CA office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.

The Global Business Organization (GBO) is the engine that powers Google’s full ecosystem of products and services to help customers and partners succeed and grow. GBO includes the commercial arms of Ads sellers, business development teams, and customer services and support, as well as overlay programs that enable coordinated engagement with Google's most complex and important customers and partners.
  • Develop comprehensive business, product, and sales strategies by utilizing predictive modeling and advanced statistical analysis using Python to identify market opportunities, optimize sales incentive structures, and drive incremental revenue growth.
  • Define, track, and maintain key business metrics to measure sales effectiveness, and design statistically rigorous A/B tests and experimental methodologies to validate business hypotheses and deliver actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Design and implement scalable analytical processes and dashboards that integrate with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. Develop and review SQL scripts to perform complex data extraction and manipulation from diverse datasets to ensure business reporting accuracy and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead collaboration and facilitate alignment with diverse, cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
  • Drive strategic change by influencing key partners, managing expectations, and building trusted, credible relationships. Own the end-to-end delivery of multiple complex strategy and analytics projects, providing strategic oversight of the lifecycle from hypothesis generation and data scope definition to execution.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Commercial Strategy & Operations Manager-related occupation.
  • Position requires 6 years of experience in the following: Data analysis, modeling, and reporting for business solutions or business intelligence using SQL, Python, and CRM systems. Sales operations analysis or revenue operations analysis. Business strategy development or corporate advisory. Executive stakeholder management and influence or C-level stakeholder engagement. Project management of multi-stakeholder initiatives or program management.
