Job Summary
Tetra Pak, the global leader in food processing and packaging solutions, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Commissioning engineer. This role involves overseeing the commissioning, troubleshooting and servicing of Tetra Pak Cheese equipment (it is also possible to support different segments within the Tetra Pak Food Solution) and systems at Customer sites all around the world, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Commissioning engineer will manage commissioning of equipment (lines), maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the commissioning process. This position requires strong automation skills, process skills, mechanical and electrical skills, hands-on experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.

This is a global, project-based role involving extensive travel up to 85% yearly and close collaboration with Customers, project teams, and market organizations.
The preferred locations are Heerenveen, The Netherlands or Olsztyn, Poland.
What you will do
You, as Commissioning engineer, will commission, start up, and troubleshoot cheese processing equipment and complete production lines at Customer sites worldwide, ensuring high product quality, yield, and operational efficiency. The role includes performing factory and delivery tests, supporting software testing, and fine-tuning automation and control systems. You will work hands-on with key cheese technologies such as milk treatment, coagulation, curd handling, whey separation, pressing, and forming, while collaborating closely with project and engineering teams. As Tetra Pak’s on-site representative, you will also provide technical training and support to Customers, ensuring professional communication and successful project delivery.
Main responsibilities:
- Executing preparation to commissioning activities (office or factory)
- Executing commissioning and start-up, and performance validation of cheese processing equipment and full cheese production lines at Customer sites worldwide
- Performing factory acceptance tests (FAT) and delivery testing in engineering workshops in cooperation with automation department
- Troubleshooting and optimizing systems to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and reliability
- Supporting installation activities as commissioning engineer and ensuring systems meet process and safety requirements
- Providing technical training and guidance to customers and local service teams
- Acting as a technical expert on-site, representing Tetra Pak with professionalism and confidence
- Contributing to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and competence development within the team
We believe you have
- A bachelor’s degree and technical background in Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Food Engineering, or similar
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial commissioning, start-up, or field service
- Knowledge of process automation systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Rockwell or Schneider etc.)
- Experience in dairy or cheese processing is a strong advantage
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- A valid driving license
