Community Living Center- Registered Nurse

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 25, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be February 10, 2026, with weekly cut-off dates on Tuesdays going forward. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Major Duties: Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned residents with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization. Partners with the resident, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum. Plans and delivers technically competent care to patients in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Manages nursing care of patients, organizes, and completes own assignments in a safe and timely manner, assisting team members as necessary. Establishes a therapeutic relationship, allowing the patient to achieve optimal function through assessment and treatment of their health enhancing the patient experience, satisfaction, and/or safety. Treats all patients, families and other caregivers with dignity and respect incorporating knowledge, values, and beliefs into nursing care delivery without judgement or discrimination. Recognizes ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and behaves in an appropriate manner through observance of established policies and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Applies high reliability principles and I CARE values to improve patient outcomes. This nurse has fundamental experience with the situations in which they are ultimately expected to perform, integrating theoretical concepts, basic critical thinking skills, and technically skilled practice. Seeks out new learning opportunities and shares evidence-based practice/research with peers to improve patient care. Shares techniques to deliver cost-effective care with peers. Seeks opportunities to participate in unit level performance improvement activities. Integrates patient preferences into daily delivery of quality patient care. The CLC RN seeks guidance from the Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator to ensure accuracy of the Resource Utilization Group (RUG) score.
