Role Overview

The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining compliance standards across Aira's installation and service operations. The role has UK-wide responsibility for multi-discipline compliance and governance, ensuring the safe, compliant and high-quality delivery of operational activities across the business.

The role oversees accreditation, auditing and compliance frameworks across electrical, gas, hot water, safe isolation and renewable technologies, ensuring all work meets legislative requirements, industry regulations, accreditation standards and internal quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

Compliance & Governance

  • Lead operational compliance and governance across all UK installation and service activities.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, industry regulations, accreditation schemes and company policies.

  • Oversee compliance frameworks across electrical, gas, hot water, safe isolation and renewable technologies.

  • Maintain responsibility for company accreditations, certifications and third-party compliance schemes.

  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve compliance policies, procedures and operational standards.

  • Monitor changes in legislation, industry guidance and regulatory requirements, implementing updates where necessary.

  • Ensure robust governance is maintained across employed engineers, subcontractors and supply partners.

  • Support technical management and quality assurance across multiple operational disciplines.

Auditing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and manage a national programme of operational audits and inspections.

  • Review installation quality, certification accuracy and compliance documentation.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects, incidents, customer complaints and non-conformances.

  • Drive corrective and preventative actions across the business.

  • Monitor, analyse and report on compliance KPIs, audit findings and quality performance.

  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve operational standards, compliance and customer outcomes.

Training & Competency

  • Partner with the Aira Academy and Training teams to develop compliance-focused training programmes.

  • Identify competency gaps and implement development plans.

  • Deliver toolbox talks, compliance briefings and technical updates.

  • Support engineer upskilling in emerging technologies including heat pumps, battery storage and solar systems.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide direct line management, coaching and development for a team of QSs.

  • Set objectives, monitor performance and support the ongoing professional development of the compliance team.

  • Ensure consistency in auditing, technical decision-making and compliance standards across the QS function.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
