Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement compliance programmes to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including AML/CFT regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the firm’s compliance programme, including its policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Serve as the firm’s primary point of contact with the BMA on compliance-related matters.
  • Ensure that the firm’s personnel and clients are aware of and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes for personnel on AML/CFT regulations.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and make recommendations for remediation.
  • Investigate and report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure that the firm’s compliance programme is adapted accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, with specific experience in AML/CFT.
  • Strong understanding of compliance best practices and regulations, with knowledge of the BMA’s rules and regulations considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements of other relevant jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance-related software.
