You will manage daily AML and compliance activities and oversee the AML program in Hong Kong, reporting to the Head of Legal and Compliance. You will implement and review policies and procedures, provide commercially oriented compliance advice to stakeholders, and lead AML KYC related projects. You will maintain regulatory registers, file required reports, and liaise with regulators and law enforcement as needed. You will monitor accounts and transaction flows for AML and CFT risk and keep up to date with regulatory developments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct AML and CFT reviews and risk monitoring on accounts and transaction flows.
  • Advise stakeholders on existing and ongoing regulatory obligations and standards.
  • Develop and enhance AML governance including new policies and procedures and process improvements.
  • Develop compliance procedures and controls and provide commercially oriented compliance advice.
  • Implement and review policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Lead and contribute to compliance related projects including liaison with the technical development team to enhance AML and KYC related systems.
  • Maintain regulatory registers and make necessary filings with the regulator.
  • Liaise with regulators and law enforcement agencies regarding requests and the filing of STRs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Law.
  • Compliance Professional Designation such as ICA, CAMS.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant compliance experience in a financial institution or regulated entity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize without close supervision.
  • Self motivated, meticulous, analytical and strong organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of the business dynamics of a financial institution and strong knowledge of virtual assets and payment services.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Cantonese.
  • Proficient in the use of Google products and AI agentic tools such as Claude.
  • Ability to think critically and manage several concurrent matters with an analytical mindset and keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with VA KYT analytical tools such as Chainalysis and Eliptics is a strong plus.
