Concrete Paver Operator & Equipment Mechanic

We’re looking for a hands on Concrete Paver Operator who doesn’t just run equipment, but understands how to keep it running. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical know how who can spot issues early, troubleshoot in the field, and minimize downtime.   • Operate concrete paving equipment (slipform pavers, curb machines, and related machinery) to place and finish concrete surfaces such as roads, highways, and curbs
  • Monitor paving operations to ensure proper alignment, thickness, and smoothness of concrete placement
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections on equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance and repairs on paving equipment and other heavy machinery
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime in the field
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and calibration of paving equipment for each project
  • Coordinate with paving crew members, foremen, and grade setters to maintain production goals and quality standards
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and part replacements
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report equipment issues promptly
  • Follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards while operating machinery and performing repairs
  • Ensure jobsite cleanliness and proper care/storage of tools and equipment
  • Support other field operations as needed during downtime or when mechanical work is complete

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating concrete paving equipment and/or repairing heavy equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs in a field environment
  • Basic knowledge of concrete paving processes and jobsite operations
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and safety guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, long hours)
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability
  • Job duties as assigned
