Position Summary:
The Construction Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all quality control activities on construction projects to ensure compliance with contract specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures that all materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet established quality standards while supporting project timelines and budgets. This position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm as a two month contract.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP)
Ensure all construction activities comply with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
Conduct daily inspections of work in progress to verify adherence to quality standards
Coordinate and perform three phases of control: preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections
Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and test reports
Manage and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions
Serve as the primary liaison with clients, inspectors, and third-party testing agencies regarding quality matters
Schedule and coordinate inspections with local authorities and regulatory agencies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation and reports
Lead quality meetings and provide guidance to project teams on quality expectations
Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections
Ensure compliance with safety standards in coordination with the Safety Manager
