CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate construction site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, safety regulations, and project schedules while maintaining quality standards and supporting timely project completion within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor daily construction site activities to ensure smooth operations and adherence to project plans
  • Coordinate and assign tasks to workers, subcontractors, and vendors to optimize workforce efficiency
  • Verify that all work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality standards and identify issues
  • Enforce compliance with workplace safety regulations and site safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Monitor usage of manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to control resources effectively
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients to facilitate communication and resolve issues
  • Prepare daily progress reports and maintain accurate site documentation for project tracking
  • Identify site problems promptly and implement corrective actions to minimize delays
  • Attend site meetings and provide clear project updates to stakeholders
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness on site to promote safety and organization
  • Support project completion within approved timelines and budgets by coordinating resources and activities

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction supervision
  • Diploma, NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building Services, or related fields
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide site activities
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and Singapore building regulations to ensure compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
  • Strong leadership skills to manage teams and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work independently and manage pressure in a dynamic construction environment
  • Good problem-solving and organizational skills to address site challenges and maintain workflow

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in site coordination and workforce management to optimize labor deployment
  • Skills in project scheduling and planning to support timely project delivery
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and safety management to enhance site safety practices
  • Expertise in quality control and inspection to uphold construction standards
  • Competence in documentation and report preparation to maintain accurate project records
  • Possession of relevant Singapore safety certifications is an advantage
