About the role
As our Social Content Creator, you're the engine behind our brand's social-first storytelling—the person who turns an idea into a piece of content that people stop scrolling to watch (and send to their friends).
You'll own the content creation process end-to-end: ideation, production, publishing, iterating. You're part strategist (understanding what matters to your audience), part creator (conceptualizing ideas that feel fresh), part performer (getting on camera when the moment calls for it). You understand that TikTok and Instagram are completely different creatures—different pacing, different authenticity standards, different what-actually-lands. So you make content for those platforms, not just adapted across them.
You'll chase moments that matter—not every trending sound, but the wider conversations about that make sense for the brand to be a part of. You'll know when a trend is worth Deel's voice and when it's noise. You'll spot organic signals and ideas that pop without waiting for a brief. And you'll move fast—from idea to published in days, not weeks.
You're not handing off briefs to someone else. You're owning the full idea from conception through analyzing what worked and why. You work closely with our Director of Social and Senior Social Media Manager to translate strategy into content at speed. You collaborate with the Brand Marketing team and Influencer Manager on larger productions where creative direction and talent management matter.
This is hands-on, fast-paced work. You'll be part of a small team where creative judgment and execution quality are equally valued.
Responsibilities:
Come with ideas. You're pitching original content concepts constantly—not waiting for a brief, but spotting what would work for Deel's audience. You have a point of view about what's on-brand and what isn't, and you're not afraid to say it.
Produce content end-to-end. Scripting, shooting (on-camera as the talent when needed), editing, publishing. You're using tools efficiently and not being precious about production value when speed and authenticity matters more.
Understand each platform like you built it. You know that Instagram and TikTok are completely different beasts. You're optimizing for platform culture, not just algorithm metrics. You understand what audiences care about vs. what's just noise.
Chase trends with good judgment. You're monitoring what's happening, but evaluating everything through a Deel lens. Does this conversation matter to our audience? Can we add something real to it? Or is this just noise? You balance moving fast with keeping the brand coherent and safe.
Build formats that work. You're constantly experimenting to find what performs—hooks that work, storytelling structures that land, content series that build momentum. When you find something, you make it repeatable so the team can scale without losing quality.
Brief and collaborate on bigger productions. When you're working with the Brand Marketing team or Influencer Manager on larger productions or creator collaborations, you bring creative perspective. You brief talent clearly, give real feedback (not just a thumbs up), and make sure the work reflects Deel's standards.
Stay curious about what's changing. Algorithm shifts, new features, emerging creators, how your audience thinks about work and hiring—you're tracking it all. You translate these insights into actionable creative direction for the team.
Know what's working and why. You're analyzing performance data consistently. You understand which metrics matter and which don't. You communicate learnings to the team and iterate quickly based on evidence, not hunches.
Nice-to-haves:
A portfolio of social content you've created for brands and/or your personal brand
Video editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar)
Experience with content calendars or scheduling tools (Later, Sprout, Buffer, etc.)
Understanding of social analytics (and knowing which metrics actually matter)
Experience working in a fast-paced creative environment (agency, startup, in-house—wherever you've moved quickly)
Comfort with AI tools for research, ideation, or editing (Claude, generative AI, etc.)
Experience creating across multiple short-form platforms
Experience working with external creators, production companies, or talent
What we don't require: You don't need to have gone to film school or worked at an agency. You don't need a massive personal following. You need creativity, platform instinct, the ability to move fast, and genuine curiosity about what works.
What we're looking for:
You're a creator first. You love making things and putting them out into the world. You have creative instincts and the confidence to pitch ideas—you don't wait to be told what to make. You know when to follow a trend and when to sit it out because you actually understand your audience, not just algorithms.
You're comfortable on camera and genuinely unfazed by it. You don't need to be polished—authenticity and personality are what matter. You'll get in front of the lens when the idea calls for it, and you're not precious about being imperfect. Honestly? A little awkwardness or realness often works better.
You move fast, but not recklessly. You iterate based on what the data tells you, not your ego. You're curious about why something works, not just that it does. You have good judgment—you can look at a trend and say "this doesn't feel like us" and explain why.
You're a good teammate. You give and receive feedback without defensiveness. You communicate clearly. You're excited about building something new from scratch—not optimizing what already exists. You thrive in small, unified teams where people trust each other's judgment.
Honestly, we're looking for someone who's entrepreneurial in spirit. You don't just execute—you think about what we're building and how to make it better.
