Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Administers the implementation and maintenance of provider contracts, including alternative payment models and fee for service agreements.
• Facilitates contracting activities with Managed Care Finance, Legal, Medical Management, Data and Analytics, and Payer Operations departments, and with other parties as appropriate.
• Oversees the master contract database, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, in both electronic and paper formats.
• Oversees coordination of contract execution and filing, and tracking of notice, termination and contract deliverable dates.
• Gathers, researches, and distributes contract-related information for compilation and communication; prepares communications, summary sheets, quick reference guides, and implementation checklists for payer contracts.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge and expertise of managed care and related contracts.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for all outside vendor groups.
• Processing and tracking enrollment of affiliated community health center providers in commercial risk contracts and follow up as needed.
• Performs administrative tasks related to contracting, including credentialing and re-credentialing applications, scheduling meetings, and responding to government requests.
• Adheres to Compliance policies
• Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree is required. Preferred/Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, business or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years’ experience in healthcare, managed care, or finance required.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
• Must possess above-average organizational skills and be detail-oriented
• Ability to relate effectively to physicians and hospital administration and to handle service issues and complaints in a professional and diplomatic manner
• Demonstrates knowledge in understanding of healthcare contracting, managed care, and finance
• Competence using Microsoft Office products, primarily Word and Excel
