Responsibilities

  • Allocate daily transport requirements based on delivery schedules, customer priorities, and truck availability.
  • Prepare and release trip assignments to drivers and transport service providers.
  • Optimize load planning to maximize truck utilization and reduce empty trips.
  • Coordinate closely with warehouse operations regarding loading sequences, dispatch times, and order readiness.
  • Communicate delivery instructions, routing details, and operational updates to drivers and partners.
  • Respond promptly to customer and stakeholder inquiries related to delivery status or transport capacity.
  • Track trip progress in real time and ensure adherence to planned routes and schedules.
  • Resolve transport issues such as delays, truck breakdowns, and route deviations.
  • Monitor compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Generate and update transport allocation sheets, dispatch reports, and trip monitoring logs.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of trip documents including trip tickets, manifests, and PODs.
  • Support preparation of weekly/monthly performance reports (e.g., on-time delivery, truck utilization).
  • Assist in managing transport-related expenses such as fuel, overtime, and rented equipment.
  • Recommend opportunities for cost improvement within the transport network.
  • Coordinate with transport providers regarding rate agreements and service requirements (if applicable).
  • Identify inefficiencies in routing, loading, and scheduling and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in operational reviews and contribute to process enhancement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 1–3 years' experience in transport planning, dispatching, trucking coordination, or related logistics functions.
  • Experience in FMCG, retail distribution, or 3PL operations is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of transport operations, routing, and logistics processes.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, TMS/WMS systems, or fleet management tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, especially under time pressure.
  • Attention to detail and high sense of urgency.
  • Ability to multitask and manage dynamic schedules.
