Cook (Food Services)

Job Description

The cook will assist in the preparation of meals in accordance with the menus for patients, guests and employees. Your duties will include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Reading of menus and plating slips to ensure meals are prepared and served according to the menu.

  • Receive raw food items from stores, check for quality and quantity.

  • Prepare meals according to standardised recipe, ration scales and special diet orders. Ensure compliance with statutory hygiene guidelines and religious practices.

  • Wash, cut and prepare ingredients for sauces, meats, stocks, garnishes etc.

  • Preparation for food service - transferring of cooked food to serving area, identify plating slips, read and apportion food accordingly.

  • Any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Completed PSLE and able to read and understand simple English

  • Preferably with relevant cooking experience in Halal, Chinese, Indian or Western food

  • Able to perform 2 rotating shifts (6.30am - 2.30pm; 10.30am - 6.30pm), including weekends and public holidays
