Role Overview
<\/h3>
As Cook, you will be primarily responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to a consistent standard, maintaining cleanliness and food safety practices, and supporting smooth service execution.

Key Responsibilities
<\/h3>Prepare, season and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, standards and service timelines
<\/p><\/li>
Complete daily mise en place, portioning, and workstation setup to ensure service readiness
<\/p><\/li>
Manage a cooking section during service and coordinate plating to maintain speed and consistency
<\/p><\/li>
Monitor food quality, taste, portion control and presentation; rectify issues promptly
<\/p><\/li>
Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen\-management requirements at all times
<\/p><\/li>
Assist with stock rotation, labelling, storage, and minimising wastage
<\/p><\/li>
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils and equipment, including end\-of\-shift pack\-down
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
Skills
<\/h3>Strong practical cooking ability in a busy kitchen
<\/p><\/li>
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency
<\/p><\/li>
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements
<\/p><\/li>
Good time management, organisation and attention to detail
<\/p><\/li>
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Qualifications and Experience
<\/h3>Relevant commercial cookery qualification (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrated experience

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen (bistro/restaurant preferred)
