About the Role<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

We are seeking an experienced\nCook to join our kitchen team and help deliver the high\-quality Greek cuisine\nour guests love. Reporting to the Head Chef, the successful candidate will be\nresponsible for preparing and cooking a broad range of authentic Greek dishes\nacross all sections of the kitchen. This is a hands\-on role requiring strong\nculinary technique, a passion for Mediterranean food, and the ability to\nperform consistently in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Greek\ndishes, including mezze, grilled meats, seafood, and traditional desserts
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Set up and maintain designated kitchen sections in\naccordance with service requirements
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Monitor food quality, presentation standards, and\nportion sizes to ensure consistency
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Follow and contribute to standard recipes, mise en\nplace procedures, and plating guidelines
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Manage food storage, labelling, and rotation to meet\nfood safety requirements
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Conduct regular checks on ingredient freshness and\nquality, reporting any concerns to the Head Chef
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workstation\nthroughout service
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Assist with stock ordering, stocktakes, and inventory\nmanagement as directed
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Collaborate with kitchen and front\-of\-house teams to\nensure smooth, timely service
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and WHS\nrequirements at all times

Skills<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Proficient cooking skills across multiple kitchen\nsections (grill, sauté, prep, cold larder)
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Sound knowledge of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine,\ningredients, and cooking techniques
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Ability to maintain quality and consistency under\npressure during peak service periods
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Strong knife skills and familiarity with commercial\nkitchen equipment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards\n(HACCP or equivalent)
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Effective time management and ability to prioritise\ntasks in a fast\-paced environment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Good communication and teamwork skills within a kitchen\nbrigade

Experience<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>At least 1 year of demonstrated experience working as a\nCook or equivalent role in a commercial kitchen
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience preparing and cooking Mediterranean or Greek\ncuisine (highly desirable)
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience working in a high\-volume restaurant, hotel,\nor resort kitchen environment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience with stock management, food cost awareness,\nand waste minimisation
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience working across multiple sections of a\nprofessional kitchen
<\/p>

Qualifications<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821) or\nequivalent qualification, or demonstrated equivalent industry experience
<\/p>
