Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of a cook is to prepare food for employees at TMC Transportation’s cafeterias and assist in all aspects a food service operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare food items by adhering to all recipe standards
  • Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling and food safety guidelines. This includes maintaining compliance with City, County, State, and Federal food safety regulations and codes
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Perform daily tasks such as: line set up, food prep, cooking, clean-up, and cash handling
  • Supervise food service workers in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in a food service operation, possess knowledge on the proper use of food service equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Be knowledgeable on food and safety regulations, be able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations, handle cash transactions accurately
  • Must be able to lift 20lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, employees, supervisors, guests, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
