Job Description:
Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness (SDFW) engages the Arizona State University community through co-curricular experiences that promote lifelong health and well-being. Across all campus locations, SDFW provides intentional programs and offerings in state-of-the-art facilities that advance student success. SDFW is part of Educational Opportunities and Student Services (EOSS) and works collectively to advance the student experience through opportunities that foster community, develop skills, and support holistic well-being.
The Program Coordinator: Membership Services role oversees the daily operations of the front desk, access control, equipment room, and student workers who deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. By balancing people leadership, operations, and customer experience, this position helps create welcoming programmable spaces and meaningful opportunities that support both student success and community well-being. This position is officed out of the ASU Tempe campus and serves as a member of the university-wide Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness team.
Essential Duties:
Student Staff Development (60%)
Recruit, hire, train, supervise and develop a team of student staff to create a welcoming, service-focused environment.
Design and deliver engaging training programs on customer service, operations, safety, and emergency response.
Develop student worker skill sets to address customer service, conflict resolution and de-escalation situations, operations, safety, and emergency response.
Oversee daily operations such as scheduling, payroll, timekeeping, and required certifications.
Manage staffing budgets and ensure resources are used effectively.
Membership Services (30%)
Oversee the day-to-day experience across service areas, including access control, memberships, registrations, locker rentals, equipment checkout, and social spaces.
Respond to and resolve member concerns, working to create positive and consistent experiences.
Manage inventory and retail operations, including ordering, tracking, and organization.
Support a clean, organized, and welcoming environment across all activity and social spaces.
Oversee point-of-sale (POS) systems and payment processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Serve as a resource for Innosoft Fusion software.
General Responsibilities (10%)
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Higher Education, Business, or a related field.
Experience leading, supervising, training, or mentoring staff or part-time employees, preferably in a campus recreation or service-oriented environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships

Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students. EOSS has direct responsibility for multiple departments across four campuses, some of which include the Dean of Students, University Housing, Health Services, Counseling Services, Disability Resources, the Memorial Union, Upward Bound and TRiO programs, Sun Devil Fitness, Student Government, Student Media, Career Services and others.
