Corporate Finance Analyst

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Finance Analyst to join our Finance team in Melbourne Southbank or Sydney CBD office on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Principal, Corporate Finance, you will play a key role in supporting capital allocation decisions through robust financial analysis, modelling and investment appraisal, contributing to strategic planning and value creation across APA’s portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Support the evaluation of capital allocation options by analysing financial impacts, modelling scenarios and assessing alignment with strategic objectives and business priorities.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of corporate and asset-level financial models to inform long-term planning, forecasting and growth initiatives.
Assist in the appraisal of major capital investments and strategic proposals, preparing robust financial analysis and clear insights to support executive and Investment Committee decision-making.
Assess investment opportunities against return expectations and risk appetite, identifying key drivers, sensitivities and potential value creation levers.
Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Strategy & Corporate Development and Energy Solutions to deliver high-quality analysis that strengthens commercial decision-making.
Generate actionable insights from complex financial data, demonstrate initiative and curiosity, and continuously build technical capability to support the broader Corporate Finance objectives.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline; CA/CPA qualification (or progress towards) highly regarded.
Experience in corporate finance, investment analysis, infrastructure advisory or a related analytical role within a complex environment.
Strong financial modelling capability, with confidence interpreting financial statements, scenario analysis and investment appraisals.
Commercial acumen, with the ability to assess risk, returns and strategic alignment of capital allocation decisions.
Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and financial systems; experience working with large datasets and drawing practical insights.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
