Cosmetics Manager - fixed term
We have an exciting fixed-term opportunity for an experienced leader and retail professional to join Ballantynes as our Cosmetics Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role is responsible for leading our Cosmetic department, working closely with Brand Representatives, Beauty Buyer, Counter Managers and Sales teams to drive performance, maximise sales and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Leading a team of around 40, you will play a key role in creating a high-performing, customer-focused culture that reflects the premium Ballantynes brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver sales targets, budgets and key business KPIs
- Lead, coach and motivate the team to achieve strong commercial outcomes
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key cosmetic brand partners
- Develop team capability through coaching, training and regular performance conversations
- Ensure the smooth, efficient day-to-day operation of the department
- Champion an outstanding customer experience at every touchpoint
- Contribute positively to the wider Sales Leadership team
- Foster a safety-first culture, addressing risks and promoting safe work practices
- Drive high standards of presentation and maintain a premium store environment
- Build strong internal and external relationships, modelling positive and professional behaviours
About You
You are a confident and experienced retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-led environment. You bring:
- Proven management experience in retail or a customer-focused environment
- A strong track record of delivering sales growth and achieving KPIs
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, performance management and team development
- The ability to build effective relationships with both internal teams and external partners
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid computer literacy

This is a full time, fixed term opportunity working Tuesday to Saturday until 27 February 2026. However, some flexibility to support operational needs, eg. stocktakes and sales, may be required.
