Key Responsibilities

I. Costing & Inventory Management

  • Drive ongoing review and analysis of material costs, manufacturing overheads, and price variances while partnering closely with manufacturing teams to improve cost efficiency.
  • Review work-in-progress (WIP) and open project reports to ensure timely closure and accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead inventory reviews, reserve assessments, and cycle count activities, ensuring timely completion and reconciliation of variances.
  • Support percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue accounting, including analysis and regular engagement with project managers on project performance, status, and forecast alignment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen inventory costing and manufacturing finance processes.

II. Financial Close & Reporting

  • Support monthly and annual financial close activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare, review, and approve costing and inventory-related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, management commentaries, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Perform gross margin analysis and provide insights on performance drivers including volume, pricing, product mix, and direct costs.

III. Forecasting, Planning & Business Partnering

  • Act as a finance business partner to Plant Managers and manufacturing stakeholders to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to manage production peaks and troughs, improving on-time delivery (OTD), operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including capacity planning, manufacturing headcount planning, and under-absorption analysis.
  • Provide financial and operational insights to support pricing strategies and commercial tender submissions.

IV. Systems, Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Serve as key user for ERP enhancements, particularly within inventory costing functionalities (Macola preferred).
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members (where applicable), driving functional excellence within manufacturing finance.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc projects as required.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing finance, costing, and business partnering within a multinational environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work across functions and levels.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Macola experience advantageous).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
