Job Description Summary

The Country Head Belgium is responsible for leading and driving the overall business performance, strategy, and operations of the Belgian organization. This role holds full P&L accountability and ensures the achievement of sales, market share, growth, and profitability targets in alignment with Sandoz global and regional priorities.
Acting as a key member of both global and regional leadership teams, the role contributes to shaping cross-functional strategies for priority assets and disease areas, ensuring strong commercial positioning with a focus on major markets. The Country Head translates global strategies into impactful local execution, while fostering close collaboration with cross-functional teams (Strategy, Development, MAP).
The role also focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, policymakers, and industry influencers, to enhance market access and improve patient outcomes. As a senior leader, the Country Head drives organizational excellence, develops high-performing teams, reinforces company culture, and strengthens Sandoz’s reputation in the local market.

Job Description

Major accountabilities:

  • Leads, manages & develops a competitive DA/ asset strategy, influencing/partnering across the disease ecosystem to set strategy for current/future product portfolio and maximize patient impact.
  • (Global) -Leads, manages & develops the overall performance of the country/ cluster organization, collaborating with global and regional leaders to set strategy for current/future product portfolio, delivering sales and profits within agreed budgets, and providing effective leadership of its business business units, functional groups, and support teams.
  • (Region/Country/Cluster) -Defines and communicates clear business vision and strategy (based on global vision/strategy) for the DA/ asset and ensures that these are reflected in a focused, lean, and responsive organization.
  • Inputs into overall TA strategy, leadership ambition and pipeline/ portfolio decisions.
  • (Global) -Supports strategic cross-DA/-brand alignment to continuously ensure speaking with one voice to the wider organization.
  • Develops the DA/ asset pipeline and portfolio, and maximises success of key launches through effective leadership across the functions, building future capabilities, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration and optimal management of resources, to identify and integrate expertise and input required from other teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Accountable for shaping market-relevant assets to become Standard of Care (with a focus on US, for Global).
  • Accountable for impactful, actionable early brand strategies until handover to International, by co-developing Integrated Insights Plan, consolidating and aligning inputs and requirements across functions to achieve deep DA ecosystem understanding (patient journey, competitive, access landscape, HCS budget impact and cost effectiveness analysis).
  • (Global) -Accountable for maintaining the integrity, consistency, and evolution of each brand across the lifecycle.
  • Contributes to decisions on joint ventures, in-licensing agreements, and other business relationships that impact long-term company results.
  • Fosters an excellence-oriented and customer-focused culture, innovation, and builds best-in-class teams that fully exploit all market opportunities, and internal systems, programs, and tools.
  • Drives talent acquisition, succession planning and development of associates.
  • Fosters an unbossed, inspired & culture; leads by example while being self-aware and creating a culture of feedback.
  • As Country President (if applicable) -Ensures alignment and creates a common cross-unit platform for successful collaboration within Sandoz.
  • Fosters strong collaboration between all business units and ensures alignment in external stakeholder agenda, policies and compliance approaches while optimizing business synergies for the Sandoz in the country.
  • Maintains and further builds Sandoz’ reputation for integrity, shapes the political and legislative environment, maximizes Sandoz business opportunities by building and maintaining

Minimum Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • Proven track record leading large, diverse, cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix environment
  • Significant experience with regional or multi-country scope
  • Full P&L ownership and strong business accountability
  • Demonstrated people leadership and talent development capabilities

Skills:

  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen (business strategy, commercial excellence, market growth)
  • Deep expertise in product lifecycle management, including launches and portfolio optimization
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare/pharmaceutical landscape and priority disease areas
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and lead in matrix organizations
  • Advanced stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong key account management experience
  • Experience in market access and navigating complex policy environments
  • Financial and budget management capabilities
  • Ability to identify and leverage market trends to maximize performance
