Credit Assessor

About the roles- 2x Permanent, Full-time & hybrid roles, based out of our Adelaide, Brisbane, or Toowoomba Head Office.

As a Credit Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing loan applications within your Delegated Lending Authority, making informed risk- based decisions, and providing expert guidance on lending policy and responsible lending practices.
Working closely with lending teams, including third party brokers, and key stakeholders, you’ll help structure lending solutions, mitigate risk, and support the ongoing development of our lending capability across multiple channels.
You will be empowered to think outside the box to achieve customer- focused outcomes, that are both risk conscious and commercially sound.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Assessing complex home lending, personal lending and specialised lending applications within agreed service standards.
• Exercise Delegated Lending Authority (DLA) with sound judgment and diligence.
• Provide recommendations for applications requiring escalation to higher lending authorities.
• Partner with our Lending Teams to structure lending solutions and manage complex lending scenarios.
• Review financial analysis for self-employed applicants and complex entity structures.
• Provide coaching, guidance and advice on credit policy, responsible lending and credit risk.

About you:

You are an experienced lending professional with strong credit assessment capability, commercial judgement, and a passion for supporting both customers and colleagues. You have proven experience assessing self-employed applicants and complex lending structures.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
• 5+ years’ experience in a Credit Assessment or Credit Decisioning role within a financial institution, or significant experience in a lending related role.
• Strong knowledge of credit assessment methodologies, and lending risk principles.
• Extensive experience in retail lending and credit decisioning.
• Experience with third party and broker lending channels
• Proven ability building effective stakeholder relationships across lending, broker and support teams.
• Previous experience operating under a Delegated Lending Authority (DLA)
• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship management skills.
