Credit & Collections Specialist

Incumbent should have strong communication and negotiation skills. Will be negotiating basic terms of rental agreements and ensures proper documentation. Manages daily collection activities to secure timely payments, resolve discrepancies, and support branches with outstanding accounts. Requires strong communication skills, proficiency with software systems, and effective customer service techniques. Will be responsible for making independent credit decisions up to $50,000 and recommending credit approvals up to $100,000.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proactively contact customers via phone, email, and other communication channels to resolve delinquent payments and confirm payment commitments, documenting all arrangements.
• Review and analyze customer credit applications, Dun & Bradstreet credit reports, and financial statements to determine creditworthiness for equipment rental accounts.
• Establish and maintain credit limits in accordance with company policies and industry risk guidelines, and assess limits on overdue accounts, escalating issues to the Credit Manager as needed.
• Monitor active rental accounts for changes in credit risk, including overdue invoices or extended rental periods, and recommend adjustments, write-offs, or other actions as required.
• Provide customers with account-related documents, including copies of invoices and account summaries. Update and maintain accurate customer information, including addresses, phone numbers, and tax documentation, in ERP and collections software.
• Collaborate with branch personnel to address and resolve billing or service issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of all customer communications, payment arrangements, and follow-ups for compliance and audit purposes.
• Assist in developing and enforcing credit and collection policies specific to equipment rental transactions to minimize financial risk.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives related to credit, collections, and customer service.
• Other duties as assigned in support of the operation.

This role requires onsite presence at a RfR office and/or branch location. Except for limited circumstances, remote and/or hybrid options are not offered at this time.
