CTO (Fractional)

A Fractional CTO (Head of IT equivalent) is required to:

• Define and execute the digital product and AI/ML technical roadmap

• Oversee architecture design across ML, mobile application, and hardware integration

• Ensure scalable, production-ready system design aligned with MVP timeline

• Establish engineering standards including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and deployment processes

• Drive cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, design, and data teams

• Manage technical risk, IP considerations, and system scalability decisions

• Support immediate onboarding and rapid stabilization of technical execution

Technical Expertise

• End-to-end AI/ML system architecture (preferably audio, signal processing, or time-series data)

• Experience building and scaling machine learning pipelines in production environments

• Strong knowledge of mobile application architecture (iOS/Android or cross-platform frameworks)

• Hardware–software integration experience, including SDK evaluation and device interoperability

• Cloud architecture and scalable backend systems (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment frameworks

• Data engineering experience, particularly handling large unstructured datasets (e.g. audio, sensor data)

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a CTO, Head of Engineering, or senior technical leadership role

• Strong track record in leading end-to-end digital product development (from concept to MVP and scale)

• Experience working in fast-paced startup or innovation-driven environments

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture and execution plans

• Strong cross-functional leadership across product, engineering, design, and data teams

• Experience managing technical risk, IP considerations, and product feasibility assessments

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (preferred)

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in healthcare, wellness, sleep tech, or wearable technology domains

• Exposure to acoustic modelling, audio classification, or bio signal processing

• Experience working with small, fast-moving teams in early-stage product development

• Experience with cost optimisation of hardware solutions for scalable deployment

• Prior involvement in AI product launches with regulatory or compliance considerations

• Experience working in fractional / advisory CTO capacity
