Curriculum Prep
The Curriculum Prep Assistant supports the Kids Ministry by preparing and organizing weekly curriculum materials for classrooms and ministry environments. This role ensures that supplies, resources, and activities are ready and aligned with ministry needs, allowing leaders and volunteers to focus on engaging and discipling children. This is a highly detail-oriented, behind-the-scenes role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepare weekly curriculum materials for nursery, preschool, and kids ministry environments
- Print, cut, assemble, and organize lesson resources and activity supplies
- Ensure all classrooms are stocked with the necessary curriculum materials in advance of services or events
- Maintain organization of curriculum storage areas, supplies, and inventory
- Communicate supply needs and shortages promptly
- Follow provided curriculum plans and preparation guidelines accurately
- Assist with seasonal or special event prep (holiday events, camps, special services, etc.)
- Keep prep areas clean, organized, and efficient
- Support ministry staff with additional prep tasks as needed
- Handle materials with care and maintain consistency in quality and presentation

Qualifications:
- Alignment with the mission and values of the church
- Experience in administrative, prep, or organizational work preferred but not required
- Ability to perform light physical tasks (lifting, sorting, cutting, assembling materials)
- Availability to work a flexible, very part-time schedule based on ministry needs
- Basic familiarity with office equipment (printer, copier, etc.)
Spiritual Requirements:
- Regular involvement in The Avenue Church activities and events.
- Signed acknowledgement of The Avenue Church’s “Statement of Faith” and “Staff Lifestyle Agreement” forms.
- Signed acknowledgment of policies and procedures as stated in The Avenue Church’s employee handbook.
- Living out the spiritual principles outlined in the “Staff Lifestyle Agreement”; participation in a small group; tithing consistently; attending worship services; involvement in outreach; following Christ personally and passionately; and sexual purity.
