Custodian

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our store locations. The Custodian will perform routine cleaning, minor repairs, and maintenance duties to support a safe and welcoming environment for customers and employees. This role includes a focus on maintenance tasks to ensure the store operates smoothly and efficiently.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Cleaning and Sanitation:

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies.

  • Dust and clean surfaces, fixtures, and furniture.

  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.

  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.

  • Any additional cleaning and sanitation as assigned/needed

Maintenance Tasks:

  • Conduct routine inspections of the store to identify maintenance needs and notify Regional Custodian.

  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks and work orders.

  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Regional Custodian.

General Duties:

  • Ensure the store is always clean and presentable.

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe environment.

  • Assist with the set up and dismantling of displays and fixtures as needed.

  • Support store operations by performing additional cleaning tasks as requested by the Store Manager.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous experience in custodial or maintenance roles preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance tasks and repair techniques preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
